Originally from Mississippi, but now a regular fixture in the eclectic East Nashville Music Scene, Afton Wolfe has gained a reputation for being a disruptive songsmith, a prolific recording artist and a top-notch live performer. His most recent full-length album, OPHIUCHUS, has garnered critical praise around the world.
A followup to a string of critically-acclaimed releases, including an appearance on Can't Steal My Fire: The Songs of David Olney, (which features the eminent presence of such luminaries as Lucinda Williams, Steve Earle, The SteelDrivers, Townes Van Zandt, Willis Alan Ramsey, Jim Lauderdale, Buddy Miller, Mary Gauthier and more) on which he covered the epic Titanic, which Folk Alley called a towering rocker, his duet with Jaimee Harris, covering The Rolling Stones' classic Dead Flowers, described by The Big Takeover as graceful, his mini-album of songs written by his father-in-law, LH Halliburton, The Harvest, and his five-song EP Twenty-Three featuring instant classics Cry, So Purple, and Late Nite Radio, all of which followed his 2020 solo EP debut Petronius' Last Meal and the full-length, significant collection Kings for Sale,
OPHIUCHUS is a 13-song opus, featuring no less than 18 musicians, that magically tracks the Sun's path through the cosmos and the Artist's path through Eternity.
